Factory-direct PVC-coated fiberglass pool and patio screening specifically engineered for large openings. Heavier wire, higher density weave, and a protective UV coating make this the right material for pool enclosures, screened-in patios, and porches that demand extra strength and long-term durability.
Smartex 18x14 pool and patio screen is a heavy-duty PVC-coated fiberglass mesh specifically designed for large outdoor openings. With an 18x14 mesh count, a thicker 0.013" wire diameter, and a fabric weight of 155–160g/m², this screen delivers significantly greater strength and durability than standard 18x16 residential mesh. A protective UV coating preserves color and outward visibility even under extreme outdoor temperatures, while the roll specifications (36"–132" wide, 100 feet long) are optimized for efficient pool enclosure, patio, and porch installation. This product meets requirements for Florida building codes, making it a trusted material for contractors and distributors serving warm-climate markets.

Standard residential insect screen meshes are designed for window and door applications where the frame carries most of the structural load. For large-span outdoor openings — pool enclosures, screened-in patios, and wide porches — those standard meshes simply lack the weight and tensile strength to perform reliably over time. The 18×14 pool and patio screen was engineered specifically to solve this challenge. With a heavier 0.013″ wire diameter and a denser 155–160g/m² fabric weight, it provides the extra strength and structural integrity needed to span large outdoor frames without sagging, warping, or tearing.
This heavy-duty fiberglass mesh also incorporates a protective UV coating that actively resists color fading and optical degradation caused by prolonged outdoor sun exposure. Unlike standard meshes that can discolor or become brittle under extreme temperatures, this long-lasting patio screen maintains its charcoal appearance and outward clarity through years of outdoor use. For contractors and distributors supplying Florida and warm-climate markets, it is worth noting that this mesh meets Florida building code requirements for outdoor patio enclosures — a critical compliance point for many project specifications.
For B2B buyers, the wide roll format (up to 132″ wide and 100 feet long) significantly reduces seam requirements in large enclosure installations, saving labor time and delivering a cleaner finished appearance. Whether you are a pool screen contractor, a building material wholesaler, or an OEM buyer sourcing material for branded screen products, this mesh provides a reliable and code-compliant bulk supply option.
The 18x14 mesh configuration paired with a 0.013" wire diameter creates a significantly stronger and heavier mesh than standard 18x16 residential screening. This extra strength prevents sagging and structural failure across wide pool enclosure frames and large patio spans where standard meshes would quickly show deformation. The higher fabric weight of 155–160g/m² further contributes to long-term dimensional stability under the wind pressure and physical stress typical in outdoor enclosure environments.
Benefits:
Heavier 0.013″ wire vs. standard 0.011″ residential screen
Dense 18×14 configuration for extra structural support
Resists sagging and deformation in wide frame spans
Higher fabric weight for long-term dimensional stability
Outdoor patio and pool enclosures face relentless UV and temperature exposure. The protective UV coating on this mesh actively resists the color fading and material brittleness that would otherwise degrade the screen's performance and appearance over time. For contractors working in Florida and similar warm-climate markets, this product meets Florida building code requirements for outdoor patio enclosure screening — eliminating the compliance uncertainty that comes with substituting non-rated mesh alternatives.
Benefits:
Protective UV coating resists color fading and material degradation
Maintains charcoal appearance and outward visibility under extreme temperatures
Meets Florida building code requirements for patio enclosures
Trusted compliance material for warm-climate project contractors
